The North Jakarta police precinct will deploy more than 1,000 officers to safeguard 142 churches in North Jakarta in lieu of Christmas celebrations today and tomorrow.
According to Adj.Sr.Comr. Rahmadi, the deputy chief of the North Jakarta Police precinct, 1,031 officers will back up the security at churches with more than 1,000 churchgoers.
As many as 569 officers would guard the location while the remaining 462 would be on the ready at the command posts, he said, as reported by beritajakarta.com.
He further added although the police has not received any Christmas threat, officer were on full alert to ensure the safety of Christmas celebrations.
