Firebrand Muslim cleric and terrorist suspect Abu Bakar Baasyir underwent successful cataract surgery Monday.
Baasyir's lawyer, Ahmad Michdan, said Baasyir was able to see with his left eye, which was the one operated on.
“He can see things that are close now, but he needs glasses to see long distances,” he said Tuesday as quoted by Tempointeraktif.com.
Baasyir underwent surgery at Aini Eye Hospital. It is expected he will stay there until Wednesday, or until he has made a full recovery.
