BNI allocates Rp 520b in cash for ATMs during holidays

State bank PT Bank Negara Indonesia has allocated Rp 520 billion (Rp 57.7 million) daily for its automated teller machines (ATM) during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday.

Usually BNI prepares Rp 400 billion daily for ATMs.

“We have increased the cash amount for ATMs by up to 30 percent, or to Rp 520 billion, every day during the holiday,” Tachi Basyir, the BNI public relations officer, told The Jakarta Post in Jakarta on Friday.

BNI has 4,400 ATMs across the country, excluding 10,000 ATM links and 15,000 ATM bersama

According Tachi, BNI has also strengthened security around ATMs using information technology

“The BNI command center will also monitor the ATMs,” Tachi said

Over the weekend, several BNI branches will be open for limited transactions, such as withdrawals and transfers between BNI accounts.
