Autopsy shows Citibank debtor suffered brain hemorrhage

The Jakarta Post, Jakarta | Thu, 04/07/2011 10:15 AM | Jakarta

An initial autopsy on the remains of Irzen Octa, the deceased and alleged victim of violence by Citibank debt collectors, has identified cerebral hemorrhaging as the cause of death.

The report, signed by Ade Firmansyah of the University of Indonesia's School of Medicine, shows that bleeding was found in the victim's nose and bruises were found on his skull. Irzen's face was also described as purple in color.

South Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Gatot confirmed the report. However, he said another report, which would be considered official, was available, tempointeraktif.com reported Thursday.

Gatot, who was summoned by the House of Representatives to deliver reports on the case on Wednesday, said trails of blood were also found on the wall of a room where Irzen was questioned by the debt collectors last week.

The blood sample, he said, was still being examined.
