The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) has received US$150,000 from the Indonesia Football Association (PSSI), the PFF chairman said Wednesday.

PFF president Mariano Araneta said the money was for its share of gate receipts in the two AFF Suzuki Cup semifinal matches in Jakarta last month.

Aside from the money, Araneta said his federation also enjoys extended assistance from Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait.

Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait had agreed to provide a combined $100,000 in annual assistance for the PFF.

“The aid is a big boost to our quest to improve and popularize the sport further following the success of the Azkals in the recent AFF Suzuki Cup where they advanced to the semis for the first time,” Araneta said as quoted by aseanfootball.org.

Other than finance, the three countries concerned have also assured the PFF they will be willing to play host to the training camps of the Azkals in their respective countries. The airfares and board and lodging of the Azkals will be shouldered by the host country, the PFF said.

Araneta said the $100,000 of initial funding had already been sent to the foundation.

The Japan Football Association (JFA) has also pledged a further $20,000 for grassroots development, he said.
