The opening of 26th SEA Games in Palembang, South Sumatera, is only six days away, but the athletics main arena doesn’t have any lighting or finishing lines yet.
The project manager for athletics fields, Tedjo, said that the equipment would be installed in the next two days as it had arrived from the manufacturer a few days ago.
“We delayed the equipment installation because the Vice President just visited the arena,” he said on Saturday in Palembang after receiving Vice President Boediono, who inspected the SEA Games preparations.
SEA Games organizing committee on athletics member Zulfaini M. Roffi said the athletics competitions would begin on Nov.14. He assured that all equipment would be installed by then, so there would be no disruption to the scheduled games, tempointeraktif.com reported.
