Jose Mourinho wins world's best coach award

Jose Mourinho has been named the best men's coach of 2010 for leading Inter Milan to a treble including the Champions League.

Mourinho beat Spain's World Cup-winning coach Vicente del Bosque and Pep Guardiola of Spanish champion Barcelona to the inaugural prize awarded at the FIFA world player of the year ceremony.

The Portuguese coach also guided Inter to the Italian league and cup double before leaving to join Real Madrid.

The award was voted for by national team coaches and captains plus invited international journalists.

Malaysia is different now: RI coach

Indonesian coach Alfred Riedl says fellow AFF Cup finalist Malaysia has become a stronger team after losing to Indonesia in the group stage.

“We have a 50-50 chance. We have beaten Malaysia 5-1 in the group stage, but they are now different,” he said on Sunday as quoted by kompas.com news portal.

Riedl asked his players to concentrate on Malaysia after they twice defeated the Philippines 1-0 in the semifinal leg matches.

Malaysia beat Vietnam 2-0 in the first leg of semifinals and held them to a 0-0 draw in the second.
