After a two-week international roadshow, PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk will launch its highly anticipated initial public offering on Wednesday.
Garuda’s entry into the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) will be preceded by the opening of the Bank Mandiri building next to the IDX building on Jl Sudirman, South Jakarta on Wednesday, as reported by tribunnews.com.
PT Garuda previously announced it would offer IPO shares in trading sessions on Feb 2., Feb 4. and Feb 7.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry says the first group of Indonesians evacuated from Egypt will arrive in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The 415 evacuees, mostly women and children, will reach Soekarno Hatta International Airport at 11 a.m. on Wednesday on a Garuda Indonesia flight and be brought to dormitories at Pondok Gede Haj to meet immigration and customs officials, ministry spokesman Michael Tene said.
The evacuation team ran into problems when transporting the evacuees to Cairo International Airport after it was banned from using large buses, Michael said.
Michael said preparations were underway to evacuate the next group of Indonesians, declining to discuss specifics.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency forecast light showers across the capital on Wednesday afternoon.
Showers are expected to continue into the evening in most parts of Jakarta, with the exception of Central and West Jakarta, which can expect medium showers, while Tangerang will remain overcast.
Temperatures are expected to range between 23 and 30 degrees Celsius.
Light-to-medium showers are expected to hit Jakarta on Wednesday, with cloudy weather blanketing most parts of the capital, according to the Meterorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
However, the agency has also forecasted cloudy skies in the afternoon for Thousands Islands and North Jakarta.
These two areas, in addition to West Jakarta and Depok, will also experience rainfalls in the evening, it says.
Cloudy weather is forecast to blanket most parts of Greater Jakarta, except the Thousand Islands regency, Tangerang and Bogor, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) says.
Thousand Islands, Tangerang and Bogor will experience light to medium showers, it added.
The agency also forecast light and medium rains will hit the capital in the afternoon until evening.
East Jakarta is an exception as it will have cloudy weather.
Jakarta’s temperature will range from 24-32 degrees Celsius.
